WWE Star Alexa Bliss Talks WrestleMania 34 And So Much More

With WrestleMania 34 less than a week away, current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss sat down with DIRECTV to discuss just how personal her upcoming title defense against her former best friend, Nia Jax, will be this Sunday, April 8th on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Will the Five Feet of Fury be able to overcome Jax’s rage at Bliss’ recent treachery? Bliss also discusses teaming up with “The Monster” Braun Strowman, former UFC star Ronda Rousey, the return of Daniel Bryan, and being mom to her pig, Larry Steve.

Watch Alexa Bliss defend her WWE RAW Women’s Championship against Nia Jax, along with over a dozen other matches featuring WWE superstars like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, and many more this Sunday, April 8th at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans!

You recently revealed your true feelings, albeit inadvertently, towards Nia Jax. What can we expect from your match with her this Sunday?

Well, now its personal! When you’re so close with someone for so long, and then competition is added—plus lies and deceit—there’s a lot of real emotions that go into it. I think that’s what makes this match so special. There are real emotions involved, real feelings. I mean every time we’ve done something together on RAW, it’s been real and it’s been emotional. We were best friends, and we know things about each other than no one else does. Now we have to use that against each other.

This will not only be your second WrestleMania as a competitor, but also your second time walking in as a champion. What does it mean to you to defend your title two years in a row?

Three years ago I went to WrestleMania in New Orleans as one of the extras that helped with Triple H’s entrance. Then last year I thought “Oh cool, I get my own entrance” walking into my first WrestleMania as Smackdown Women’s Champion. I didn’t think anything could get better than that – until now when I’m walking in as RAW Women’s Champion. It’s been an amazing journey, and I couldn’t ask for a better year from the WWE. They’ve been so good to me and given me so many opportunities. It’s crazy to see the differences between this year and last year, character-wise. Even though I feel like I’ve portrayed the same type of person, I feel like my character on Smackdown was different than the character I am now on RAW. It’s been developed more, it has more depth, and I think it’ll be a lot of fun this year. Last year I was in a six-way match and there was a lot going on, but this year there’s an actual one-on-one rivalry between Nia and I. Being former best friends, having that emotion there and that real story—I think it will be a lot of fun to watch, and I think the WWE Universe will hopefully be invested.

Who has been your toughest opponent up until now? And do you think Nia will be even tougher?

Up until now, I’d say Sasha Banks. We’ve had rivalries in NXT and WWE and it’s just one of those things you can’t get away from. I would say Nia will end up being my toughest opponent, because there are so many personal feelings involved. With everyone else like Sasha, Bayley, Becky (Lynch), Charlotte (Flair), it’s all business in the ring. Either I’m going for a championship, or trying to prove that I belong in the same spot as the Four Horsewomen. But now with Nia, it’s all personal.

Aside from your own, are there any matches you’re looking forward to at WrestleMania?

Charlotte and Asuka! I’m really excited about that. I think Asuka choosing Charlotte was a good call because no one has ever seen it. And I don’t think Charlotte was expecting it either. It’ll be interesting! Can Charlotte break Asuka’s streak? Or will Asuka be able to defeat Charlotte, who has a lot on her plate. She’s a legacy and a champion, and she has a certain standard that she has to hold herself to. I think it’s going to be really cool!

Who’s on your bucket list of opponents?

Obviously everyone has the same answer when we talk about dream matches—it’s Trish or Lita! But I’d like to have a match with Ember Moon from NXT. I worked with her a bit in NXT before and she’s an amazing athlete. She has quite a backstory, and I’d love to be able to get in the ring with her.

You’ve recently been working with the Braun Strowman on the Mixed Match Challenge. What has working with him been like?

It’s been really fun working with Braun in the Mixed Match Challenge! Everyone knows he’s this monster, so in order to show a different side of each other we had to go another route. It was a lot of fun to show a softer side to the Monster Among Men, and to give myself a softer side that no one had really seen. All you would see of Alexa Bliss was this mean, bratty girl all the time, and she’s never shown any emotion other than anger—she’s certainly never had a crush, so it’s been a lot of fun to portray that!

What are your feelings on former UFC champion Ronda Rousey competing in WWE?

I’m excited to have Ronda here! She brings something different to the table. She made a name for herself in UFC, they’ve had divisions built around her, and I think she’s just what the Women’s Revolution needs right now. Something different!

Are you excited for the return of Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania?

I am! I’m so excited. I got so emotional when I saw his (un-retirement) speech. I was at Smackdown for the Mixed Match Challenge and when he came out and announced he was coming out of retirement, it was just awesome. We’re all so excited for him! We know how much he loves this business and how much he loves being in the ring, so I’m super excited to see it.

Who is Larry Steve?

Larry Steve is my pig! I got him when I was on Total Divas in Nashville. He’s currently outside eating food, which he does every 5 minutes. He has a food problem. He is gigantic but he’s so loveable and so happy!

What else can we expect from Alexa Bliss in 2018?

I think I’m going to try something a little different with Alexa Bliss in 2018. Lets see how far I can push the envelope, and see what I can get away with!

Growth Hacking In Full Effect

For the past 4 seasons of the hit HBO® tech comedy, Silicon Valley®, Richard Hendricks and the rest of the Pied Piper crew have done a great job at avoiding too many responsibilities. But in season 5, whether they’re ready or not, their start-up is entering the growth phase.

After last season’s departure of Erlich, the company is down a board member, but thanks to Laurie and Monica, they now have an office and 50 new employees. As expected, there are also some not so pleasant changes on the horizon. For one, Laurie and Monica will be overseeing all office activities, and despite their earlier “no dogs” policy, a few of Dinesh’s least favorite 4-legged barking companions have been added to their work space.

Despite the rapid change around them, Richard, Dinesh, Gilfoyle, and Jared are steadily working on their goal of launching a new Internet, and ultimately changing the world. Unfortunately, their top competitor, Gavin Belson, is still determined to take over or destroy Pied Piper. Meanwhile Dinesh and Gilfoyle are still giddily incompetent, Laurie and Monica are intent on micromanagement, and Richard’s leadership skills are still in development.

Things looked uncertain in the beginning, but now the Pied Piper team might finally become a real tech unicorn! But in typical Silicon Valley® fashion, there will be growing pains and it will be a hilarious journey from now to the IPO.

Have a look at the trailer below, and make sure to catch up on Season 5 of Silicon Valley® now!

The Cost Of Fame

After a drama-filled first season, E!’s hit show The Arrangement is back for another season of romance, betrayal, and Hollywood wheelin’ and dealin’. We sat down with the cast to discuss where their characters are headed this season, and they even teased out some of the major ‘gasps’ Season 2 will bring viewers. Check out our interview below, and be sure to catch up on Season 2 before streaming new episodes of The Arrangement, Sundays at 9/8c on E!

So much of Season 1 was about what lengths people will go to for fame. What would you say is the overarching narrative of Season 2?

Michael Vartan: I think a lot of people who were reaching for fame in Season 1 realize the price that comes with that, and it’s a rude awakening for some of them.

Lexa Doig: Yeah, I think during Season 1 you got to meet certain characters, like Kyle and Megan, and you got to see them fall in love—and see that they have a genuine relationship. I think in Season 2 you start to see how external pressures really exert their force on that relationship, all while they’re dealing with their own internal pressures around fame and career. I feel like we’re taking an even deeper dive into what these characters will really do for fame.

Christine Evangelista: Season 1 was definitely all about establishing this marriage contract, between Megan and Kyle. I think the gloves really come off for Megan during Season 2—she’s fighting for her relationship, for her career, and for her own identity. We’ll explore the Institute a lot more, and all of the relationships and dynamics within that. There’s a lot to be explored when it comes to Terence and Megan and their relationship dynamic, since the two of them have been lying and keeping information from each other. I also think there’s a lot to explore between Kyle and Terrence—what led the two of them to where they are now, and why would Kyle put so much on the line for Terence?

Josh Henderson: I think Season 2 also gets a lot darker! Megan and Kyle are over their honeymoon phase of falling in love, and Season 1 ended with Megan saying that she was going to take down the Institute… so she’s on a mission. Kyle is diving into directing his first movie, which Megan’s starring in, and that’s a big deal to him! We also get to see a little bit of Kyle’s past, like finding out why his previous relationship didn’t work, how dark his life really got, and why he went to the Institute in the first place. I’m rooting for Megan and Kyle to have their happy wedding, but we shall see if it will happen or not!

What are some things that you love about your character? And on the flip side of that, things that you loathe?

MV: I actually don’t dislike anything about Terence. He’s perfect! [Chuckles.] I’m kidding! One of the things I love about Terence is that he just gets to be bad. I’ve been the good guy most of my career, so to get to play someone with skeletons in their closet is very fulfilling.

But honestly, I don’t really dislike too much about him. He’s obviously corrupt and flawed to the nth degree, but I dig it! And getting into character to play Terence again for Season 2 was exciting. I missed that old boy! Like Josh said, things are a lot darker this season. Terance does ‘creepy’ even more than he did in Season 1, if that’s even possible!

LD: Well I can honestly say that I got to know DeAnn better in Season 2 than I did during Season 1. I love that DeAnn is a get-stuff-done kind of a woman. She doesn’t let anything get in her way when it comes to what she wants to achieve. The downside to that, is that she sacrifices a lot personally and emotionally for that—which I think is part and parcel to being a woman in business. There’s often a masculine quality that you have to carry with you because there’s no room for the feminine, which to be honest with you, I hope is going to change.

JH: I think the cool thing about doing a TV show is that you live and grow with your character. During Season 1 we got to see this kind of this whimsical, romantic story. It doesn’t fall apart, but during Season 2, it gets pretty dramatic. The things that I like about Kyle are that he’s caring, and he wants to be an inspiration to people. That’s enjoyable for me to play, because I play a lot of bad guys! And Kyle’s very much a good guy. I like that this season he’s also more vulnerable. I also think that an actor portraying an actor is always an interesting situation. Playing the biggest movie star in the world is a super unique thing, so I have a ton of fun with it!

CE: There are a lot of things that I love about Megan! I’m mostly interested in her duality and her deep inner conflicts. She’s incredibly vulnerable and compassionate, but she has this really tough side of her, this inner strength that I’ve been very excited to play, especially during Season 2.

What are you most excited for fans to experience this season?

MV: I just think this season is so different from the last. Obviously, it’s the same show with the same characters, but it’s so much darker! Some of the relationships you expect to survive, as complicated as they are, don’t survive. New relationships are formed. New alliances are made. It’s pretty heavy. And as my lovely costar, Lexa likes to say, it’s a bunch of crocodiles trying to be swans.

LD: I think we got excited over the same things viewers will get excited over! Reading episode to episode, there was so much more new information in terms of the depth of these characters—especially for DeAnn.

MV: Don’t forget our love scene!

LD: Ha! Oh, yeah. We have a banging love scene, quite literally. It was good times! What else? Well there are a lot of interesting betrayals, and as Vartan mentioned there are relationships that you think would survive that don’t, and new relationships that are formed. New alliances, interesting betrayals, shocking betrayals—to see all of these people try and get to their goal of being at the top of their industry!

CE: I think Season 2 is much more of a psychological thriller. We’re exploring intentions, and how these characters manipulate each other. I’m very excited for fans to see this wedding that we’re planning! It’s this extraordinarily huge wedding, and it’s planned by the Institute. What are the terms of this marriage and this relationship, and how much of the fantasy that has been in Megan’s mind is over? Which is sad, and that definitely creates a very complicated situation for Megan and Kyle. They want to keep their relationship intact, but they have all these external factors affecting them. I’m very excited for viewers to see how that unfolds.

JH: I also think we just get so much more information about Kyle and that’s exciting for me. It gets super intense, and I honestly think that’s what fans loved about Season 1. I mean we’re pushing the envelope even more, so tune in. You’re going to love it!

In Pursuit of Power: How Far Are You Willing To Go To Get What You Want?

What do you get when you mix modern day superheroes with the real-life influence of some of the most jaw-dropping financial scandals of the 21st Century? Well, if Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis are in the cast you’ve got the binge-worthy premise of the SHOWTIME® Original Drama Series, Billions.

When it comes to the epic game of cat and mouse played between U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) and billionaire hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis), the difference between good and evil isn’t always clear-cut. As fans of the show know by now, both men (and their wives) are willing to do almost anything if it means getting what they want.

Looking for a quick refresher before jumping into the third season of Billions? To help get you re-acquainted with the show’s main characters, we’re covering some of the boldest things they’ve done to advance their own agendas. From Bobby Axelrod and Chuck Rhoades, to Wendy Rhoades and Lara Axelrod, we’re taking a look at just how far these overly ambitious characters have been willing to go—and whether viewers of the show would follow suit under the same conditions. Read on as we explore the responses from over 1000 people on the actions of these rich and powerful characters.

“This Business Makes Liars Out of All of Us”

It’s hard to hate the idea of a guy who may have survived the attacks of September 11, and pays the tuition of his colleagues’ children who weren’t as lucky. That is, until you learn that same man also uses bribes, blackmail, and insider trading to get ahead in his billionaire hedge-fund world.

Axelrod’s character may be loosely based on real life fraud, but it’s hard to imagine anyone being this cutthroat. Just two episodes into the first season, Axe orders his “fixer” (read: his muscle) to blackmail an employee at the U.S. Attorney’s office with a sex tape in order to get intel about their investigation into his business. He’s also been known to manipulate his company’s own performance coach (who happens to be Chuck Rhoades’ wife, Wendy) to make sure she stays loyal to him, and not to her husband’s investigation. Axe’s actions don’t go unnoticed, and by the end of Season 2 fans watched as Axe finally found himself behind bars.

So how do fans feel about Axe’s behavior? When asked if they would help their boss spy on a co-worker’s personal life for a $10,000 bonus, more than 45 percent of people we polled would take the cash. And how about blackmail to avoid going bankrupt? Nearly 43 percent of Americans we surveyed, would do whatever they had to do in order to protect their assets.

In Season 2 of Billions, Axe makes his own move against Chuck by sabotaging the release of Ice Juice, and consequently tanking the company’s IPO. Even if they knew they wouldn’t get caught, most viewers weren’t into this particular type of treachery. Just over 1 in 3 would follow along with the plan for a $10,000 bonus, while the rest agreed to opt out.

When The Ends Justify The Means

Chuck Rhoades, whose character is also loosely based on real life events, might have started off as Billions personal caped crusader, but that hero status didn’t last long. Chuck’s passion for taking down Bobby Axelrod went from another day at the office at the beginning of Season 1, to a complete obsession by the show’s Season 2 finale. Chuck might have felt victorious seeing Axe imprisoned because of his investigation, but he made a few personal sacrifices along the way.

Chuck is committed to catching Axe in his crooked ways, but there’s a serious catch: Chuck’s own wife is an employee at Axe Capital, and she has intel she isn’t willing to hand over. In one of the show’s biggest breaches of trust, Chuck emails his wife’s session notes to himself from her computer to get the dirt he needed on Axe to (hopefully) close the case. When he finally managed to have Axe arrested, even those efforts weren’t entirely clean. Chuck purposefully fed info to Axe & Associates through a third party while surveying Axe’s reaction to the data himself.

Despite being a U.S. Attorney, fans we polled were less comfortable with Chuck’s methods of madness than with Axe’s. At most, less than 40 percent would forward their significant other’s text messages to their boss for a $10,000 bonus. Only 27 percent would endorse a corrupt lawyer for the same $10,000, and 35 percent would help their boss blackmail a corrupt judge for the money.

Straddling Both Sides Of The Fence

There are multiple sides to Wendy Rhoades’ character, and we may not have seen them all yet. A licensed psychiatrist and the in-house performance coach at Axe Capital, Wendy is distinctly positioned between her husband and the man he’s trying to imprison. Her marriage to Chuck has even more turbulence behind-the-scenes where she acts as his sexual dominant, a visual image from the show’s opening scenes that might still be seared into the minds of fans.

Wendy might be living in a male-dominated world, but she doesn’t take any of their heat without giving back a little of her own. Like the time she visited former employees from Axe Capital, and convinced them not to open up about the company, or when she used her “confidential” therapist status to protect Axe’s crimes to her own financial advantage.

People we polled were torn when asked how they’d react in situations like the ones Wendy finds herself in. Nearly 74 percent had no problem visiting an ex-employee’s house to talk them down from sharing secrets about their company for $10,000. Though less than 13 percent would secretly record their significant other to get ahead at work. Like the time Wendy convinced Axe to increase her salary by 20 percent to come back to Axe Capital, nearly 65 percent polled said they would stay at their jobs after they learned morally reprehensible secrets about their boss for a $25,000 raise.

Playing The Long Game

Working with Axe isn’t easy, trying to catch Axe in his schemes has proven even harder, but none of the characters in Billions have to deal with the complications that come with being his wife. More than just getting what she wants, Lara is fiercely committed to protecting her family, a reality that played out to its fullest in the Season 2 finale. Lara confidently informed Axe she wouldn’t be by his side in the legal battles to come, and we’ll certainly see more of her protective side as Season 3 progresses.

No stranger to the kinds of scrapes most Billions characters are used to, Lara has meddled with an author’s personal life to ensure they left out details about her family profiting from the tragedy of 9/11. And while she tried to use Wendy to keep Chuck away from Axe, she also pressured her husband into firing Wendy in an effort to protect their marriage.

More than 60 percent of people we surveyed confessed they’d be willing to protect their significant other’s reputation by threatening their enemies. Still, others were less empathetic to some of Lara’s actions. Only 26 percent would harass their significant other’s enemies to help them earn a higher salary, and 30 percent would pressure their significant other to fire an innocent employee to save their relationship.

See All of the Drama For Yourself

As the tension between the show’s characters reaches a boiling point, Season 3 of Billions promises to be the epic showdown fans have been waiting for. Fans only need to look back at all of the ruthless things Axe and Chuck have done to each other (and the people around them) to try to bring each other down. They aren’t alone either. You don’t have to tune into the show for very long to realize Wendy and Lara are just as active in their husbands’ games as everyone else is.

Ibn Jasper Shares Old Footage of Virgil Abloh Skateboarding in Paris

It appears Ibn Jasper is feeling a little sentimental today, as the creative took to Instagram to participate in #FBF (Flashback Friday). Jasper in turn shared footage of himself skateboarding alongside Virgil Abloh, Matthew Williams of ALYX, and Justin of jjjjound during Paris Fashion Week back in 2012.

Captioned “Lunch Break In Paris,” the quartet hit a local skatepark, seemingly to escape the PFW madness.

Jasper had previously uploaded the footage roughly six years ago, as you can watch it uninterrupted below. Crazy to see/think about how far these guys have come.

Now, dive into the history of Virgil Abloh, from DJing to Louis Vuitton.
